In line with the theme Inspired By Nature, artists and makers from across our region showcase Tyler’s majestic landscapes with a range of original works set throughout the Arboretum. The works invite visitors to see, feel, and experience Tyler in a new way, tempting you to walk through the Wind Tunnel and hear the movement of the wind, or to experience the lilacs in a new way via the Heart Lock Gateway, while steel-crafted, larger-than-life animals prowl the Pinetum.
The sculptures challenge expectations as to what gateways can be, with many of the works asking us to reconsider what art is as you explore the Arboretum and interact with the exhibits.
For the duration of the exhibit our docent volunteers will lead tours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with self-guided signage and maps available for those who choose to explore on their own. Pack a picnic and pick a favorite piece to spend time in and explore nature through one of these different gateways.
