Harvest Gathering: October 19, 2019

Harvest Gathering is a fundraising event for the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, PA presented in partnership with LandArt Events.

The Community Arts Center in Wallingford, PA is an extraordinary place full of creativity‚ history‚ inspiration‚ energy‚ celebration‚ and ART.

CAC offers countless opportunities to create and enjoy the visual arts. Classes for all ages, exhibits in our spacious new gallery, an active outreach program, an artisan’s gift shop, and frequent fine art and craft sales allow people to come together and bring art and creativity into their lives. The Arts Center’s home is one of Delaware County’s most historic and architecturally interesting properties, a 122-year-old estate on four landscaped acres adjacent to I-476.

Harvest Gathering: A Celebration of Local Art, Music, Food & Beer will take place on the afternoon of Saturday October 19th.  The event will feature live music, artisanal pizza with locally sourced ingredients prepared by Jeffrey Miller Catering in the CAC’s outdoor pizza oven, beer tastings offered by local breweries, and a reception for an exhibition featuring plein air paintings by 25 local artists, created at local farmers’ markets, orchards, urban gardens and farms.

The exhibition will be on view in the Community Arts Center’s spacious Duke Gallery from Wednesday, October 16 through Saturday, October 19. In addition to work by participating artists, the exhibition will also feature a collaborative plein air piece depicting the Community Arts Center’s beautiful gardens. This piece will be created by young artists led by Deena Ball during the CAC’s popular summer art camp.  For more information about how children can get involved in creating this piece, visit the Summer Spree page on the CAC website or call the office at 610.566.1713. Art activities for young artists to participate in will also be offered at the Harvest Gathering event, which is open to families.

Event tickets will be available on the LandArt Events website starting September 1, 2019.

RAISING AWARENESS OF LAND CONSERVATION THROUGH ART

LandArt Events strives to bring awareness and educate communities through the arts by focusing on land use, conservation and the connection to agricultural community.

LandArt Events will support and encourage artists, especially plein air painters and other artists using the environment as inspiration. This will be done by providing painting and exhibition opportunities to established and upcoming fine artists.

LandArt Events will also provide educational opportunities for it’s participating artist.

LandArt Events strives to bring awareness of both conservation and the arts to future generations by offering Community Days where students and the public are given the opportunity to create with artists.
